Getting Ready For Oz..
Just a couple of months to get ready for this trip.... It seemed to be plenty as I booked the trip but it flew past, especially with all the other commitments I had so how did I do it - by not panicking of course and by writing so many lists I needed a master list to remind me what I lists I had!
As departure day approaches, I have swung from high excitement to apprehension in quick succession but the closer to DDay, and I tick off the sources of concern, the more excited I become.
With a Facebook group bringing most of us on the bus together, to resolve the challenges of preparation and get to know each other a little bit another source of apprehension (what are the others like, will I get on with them, and they with me) is ticked off. We're a pretty mixed bunch, all ages from 24 to 64, a good mix of male to female. Like me, some have finished work to take this trip of a lifetime. On Facebook, we all get on pretty well, but only time together will tell where the friendships will be forged and broken.
Back home, the family is fairly nonchalant about the whole thing. For as long as they can remember I have been away from home most weeks for work, so this extended trip holds no real challenges for them (or so they think!).

- Vaccinations
- New Passport (my old one didn't have enough clear pages left!)
- Visas (some in advance, some en route)
- Medication inc malaria prophylaxes required for most of the countries we will be visiting
- Clothes (out with all my Jaeger office clothes, in with ???)
- Money (which currencies?, How much?)
